Switzerland coach Ottmar Hitzfeld has announced his 23-man squad for the 2010 World Cup. The experienced coach didn't name any big surprises in his confirmed squad for this summer's tournament.

Star players Reto Ziegler, Tranquillo Barnetta and Gokhan Inler have all made the squad, while experienced attacker Alexander Frei has recovered in time from injury to make it to South Africa too.

Fabio Coltorti (Racing Santander), Francois Affolter (Young Boys), Fabian Lustenberger (Hertha Berlin), Albert Bunjaku (Nuernberg), Nassim Ben Khalifa (Grasshoppers) and Valentin Stocker (Basel) all had to settle for a spot on the stand-by list.

The Schweizer Nati lock horns with Spain, Chile and Honduras in the group phase of the tournament. Switzerland start the tournament with a match against Spain on June 16.
